A Response to 'Dear Designer: Bad Work Is Always Your Fault' by Grainne O'Flaherty, Design Enterprise Studio Member, March 2021 Ethics is not something new to consider in regard to design, however, with the growth of the digital design industry ethical consideration has become not only more complex in regard to legislation, but more insidious and dangerous for the low level designer attempting to traverse a legal minefield while supporting themselves and their family. Mike Monteiro’s article “Dear Designer: Bad Work Is Always Your Fault”, published on June 26th, 2019, answers a user submitted question; “I work at a large company. Decisions are made way above my pay grade. Being a military organisation the styles taught were always authoritative. Researching into management styles for digital media teams more recently has been a great opportunity to reflect on the styles I have been used to and how they compare with other options. So in this post I will share what I think are important aspects of managing a project team effectively! On the 11th of March 2021, the first purely digital NFT based artwork offered at an auction house, ‘The First 5000 Days’ (shown here), was sold at Christie’s for $69 million. The artist, Beeple, became one of the top 3 most valuable living artists because of this sale.
